Diagnostic Medical Sonography Retention Rate
The retention rate reported to the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, a nonprofit organization that establishes, maintains, and promotes quality standards for educational programs in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, for 2023 was 96%.

Practical Nursing Licensing Rate
The percentage of graduates from the Practical Nursing program who became licensed under New York State law in 2023 was 97% (Levittown campus) and 100% (Medford camus). Licensing statistics are calculated by calendar year.

Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System

The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is a system of interrelated surveys conducted annually by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), a part of the Institute for Education Sciences within the United States Department of Education.

IPEDS consists of 12 interrelated survey components that are collected over three collection periods (fall, winter, and spring) each year as described in the Data Collection and Dissemination Cycle.

The completion of all IPEDS surveys is mandatory for all institutions that participate in, or are applicants for participation in, any federal financial assistance program authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended.

Cancellations and Refunds

  1. Students who cancel within seven days of signing the enrollment agreement will have all monies paid returned to them, with the exception of the nonrefundable registration fee.
  2. Thereafter, students will be liable for (1) the cost of any textbooks or supplies accepted and (2) tuition liability as of the last date of physical attendance. Tuition liability is divided by the number of terms in the program. Total tuition liability is limited to the term during which a student withdraws or is terminated and any previous terms completed.
  3. This 900-hour program is divided into two terms, each consisting of 15 weeks. One-half of the total tuition is allocated to each term.

Certificates and/or transcripts will be withheld until the student satisfies all monetary obligations to the school.

Failure of a student to notify the director in writing of withdrawal may delay any refund of tuition due pursuant to Article 101, Section 5002, Standards for Licensed Private Schools and Registered Business Schools of the New York Education Law.

Rights and Responsibilities

  1. A grace period and an explanation of what this means

  5. A copy of my master promissory note either before or at the time my loan is disbursed

  2. Repay loan even if academic program has not been completed, dissatisfaction with the education received, or inability to find employment upon graduation
  3. Notify the school or go to the federal student aid help page under any of the following circumstances.
    • Move or change in address
    • Change of name
    • Withdrawal from school or drop below half-time enrollment
    • Transfer to another school
    • Failure to enroll or re-enroll in school for the period for which the loan was intended
    • Change in expected graduation date
    • Graduation
  4. Make monthly payments on loan after the grace period ends, unless there is a deferment or forbearance, in which case repayment options will be provided during exit counseling
  5. Notify your loan servicing center, or Hunter’s Financial Aid department, of anything that might alter eligibility for an existing deferment or forbearance

Standards for Satisfactory Progress

All students (full and part-time) must meet the following minimum standards of academic achievement and successful course completion to remain in attendance at Hunter Business School and continue to receive federal student aid. Hunter Business School will consider both a student’s grade point average (qualitative progress) and rate of progression (pace) through his or her program (quantitative progress). A student’s progress will be evaluated at the end of each payment period to determine satisfactory academic progress. At the end of each payment, period an evaluation of the student’s pace will be completed to determine if the student can successfully complete the program within the maximum timeframe of 150% of the standard program length.

A student must progress through his or her program at a pace of 67% or higher. Pace is calculated by dividing the cumulative number of successfully completed hours by the cumulative number of attempted hours.

A student must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.

Students are expected to complete all program requirements by their scheduled end (graduation) date. However, an extension may be granted, not to exceed 150% of the standard program hours. For example, the maximum timeframe in which to complete a 600-hour program is 900 hours. An evaluation will be conducted when a student successfully completes the clock hours in the payment period. If it becomes apparent that the student cannot complete the program within the maximum timeframe, the student will not be allowed to continue, regardless of whether or not he or she is receiving financial aid. At the point the student successfully completes the scheduled clock hours in that payment period, financial aid will be disbursed if the student is making satisfactory progress.
