The following information is for prospective students who want more information about our institutional and programmatic accreditation status, the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification examination, and New York State licensing.
Hunter Business School is registered and licensed by the New York State Education Department, Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision.
Hunter Business School is a Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA-CESS) regionally accredited institution.
The Hybrid Radiologic Technology program is approved by the New York State Education Department, Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision and the New York State Department of Health.

Hunter’s Hybrid Radiologic Technology program is recognized by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists through its status as a regionally accredited Middle States Association institution.
ARRT is the world’s largest organization offering credentials in medical imaging, interventional procedures, and radiation therapy. It certifies and registers technologists in a range of disciplines by overseeing and administering education, ethics, and examination requirements.
As of April 2020, Hunter’s Hybrid Radiologic Technology program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) with the maximum eight year award.
Recognition by JRCERT also qualifies our program’s graduates for eligibility to apply for and take the certification exam for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required for a New York State license to practice as a radiologic technologist.
The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists® (ARRT) examination satisfies New York State’s licensing requirements to practice as a licensed radiologic technologist (X-ray tech) anywhere in the state. New York State licenses are issued by the New York State Department of Health upon passing the ARRT exam.
