Medical Assistant School: Day or Evening Classes?

Do you want to attend medical assistant school but are unsure you have the time? If you want to start a lifelong career in a demanding field, you have options. Hunter Business School offers both day and evening classes. Whether you attend during the day or in the evening depends on your responsibilities and timeline. Let us help you decide.

What is a Medical Assistant School?

Medical assistant school offers coursework in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, medical office administration, assistance with minor surgery, pharmacology, phlebotomy, clinical skills, electrocardiography, and an externship to shadow a medical assistant in a medical facility. A medical assistant school prepares you for entry-level roles at doctor’s offices, hospitals, clinics, and other medical facilities. You can attend medical assistant school at Hunter Business School during the day or in the evening.

Should I Attend During the Day or Evening?

When it comes to attending medical assistant school, you have options. If you have responsibilities that keep you from attending school during the day, you can choose to participate during the evening. So, what is the difference between the day and evening classes?

Curriculum

The good news is that the curriculum for both day and evening classes is the same. You will take the same courses and gain the same knowledge in both.

Timeline

One of the most significant differences between the day and evening schedules is the time it takes to graduate. The day course schedule can be completed in as little as 7 ½ months. On the other hand, if you choose to attend school during the evening, you can complete the program in 15 months. While the evening schedule gives you more time during the day to manage personal responsibilities, the coursework is only taught a few days a week so it will take you longer to graduate.

CyberTex Benefits

Both schedules offer career services and industry-experienced instructors so you can find a job after graduation. We help you build a strong resume, prepare for job interviews, and match you with employers in the local community.

Why Do People Attend Evening Classes?

There are many reasons for attending medical assistant school during the evening. Some of the more common reasons include:

Taking Care of Family

Maybe you have children you are responsible for or care for an elderly parent. Taking classes in the evening is a great way to do both successfully. A medical assistant education can help your entire family since you will gain a substantial career when you complete the coursework. Family is important, and so is your education.

Daytime Employment

Can’t quit your job and go to medical assistant school full-time? You are not alone. Most of us must work during the day to pay the bills and keep food on the table. That doesn’t mean you can’t study for a career that is in demand. If you want to work as a medical assistant and  where help others every day, you can work a 9 to 5 and also take classes in the evening. The sacrifices you make now will pay off in the end.
