Web Designer School: Important Elements of a Website

If you are ready for web designer school, you will need to know some important elements of a website. With over a billion websites on the World Wide Web, web design school graduates will always be in demand. Now is the time to start a new career in Web Application Design and Development.

What are the Important Elements of a Website?

Every website is made up of elements that a web designer creates using HTML, FTP, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Java, MySQL, Python, Node.js, XML, and JSON. These website elements are important for the functionality and appearance of any website. You will review the following elements during web designer school:

HTML – also known as Hypertext Markup Language, HTML is a standard markup language for creating web pages. HTML allows the structure of a website using tags and attributes.

FTP  – file transfer protocols help networks transmit computer files over transmission control protocols or internet protocols (TCP/IP). FTP allows web designers to upload files to the server and download files from a server on the client device.

CSS – cascading style sheets are a language for specifying how web pages are presented on a browser. A common CSS element is the drop-down menu on the top global navigation of a website. CSS can also change the font, color, size or spacing on a web page.

JavaScript – a scripting language that allows the web designer to dynamically change websites. This includes anything that moves, refreshes or changes dynamically like multimedia and animated images.

jQuery – a lightweight JavaScript library that uses the resources provided by JavaScript to make building web pages easier.

Java – an object-oriented programming language for coding web applications.

MySQL – a relational database management system that uses structured query language to access databases.

Python – an object-oriented programming language with dynamic semantics that a web designer uses to build websites and applications, automate tasks, and analyze data. It is more flexible and easier to use because it has no type declarations.

Node.js – an open-source, cross-platform JavaScript runtime environment for building fast and dynamic server-side applications. With the help of Node.js, JavaScript can be executed outside the browser.

XML – eXtensible Markup Language used for storing and transporting data. XML lets the web designer define and store data in a sharable manner. It also supports information exchange between websites, databases, and applications.

JSON – JavaScript Object Notation is a way to store and transport data based on JavaScript object syntax.
